The general contractor backfilled and compacted the electrical/sprinkler sleeve trench today and the excavation contractor removed the soil from the area of the parking lot to make room for the pavement materials and placed it in the foundation area after adding water for proper compaction. The foundation backfill is about 80 per cent complete up the level we will place gravel to support the floor slab. Most of the backfill was compacted leaving small areas around the electrical conduits for additional electrical work prior to completing the backfill. The water was obtained by pumping from the irrigation ditch which was running today.

The first photo shows mixing the soil with water as it was removed from the parking lot area and the second shows the equipment used to spread the soil and compact it in the foundation. We still plan to finish the backfill and utilities and be prepared for pouring of the floor slab Tuesday next week.
