The Mountain View
I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where
does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven on Earth.

Bobbie Lyn Chauza |
Bobbie, age 17, passed away August 4, 2002 due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident. She was born June 2, 1985, in Bountiful, Utah to Robert and Patti Chauza. Bobbie attended West Jordan High School where she was an honor student. Bobbie was involved in school activities, the church youth group, and worked part time. She was a strong willed, ambitious and bright free spirit. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends and family, shopping, traveling, and school. Her future plans were to attend college in Colorado.
A Memorial Fund has been established at Mountain Vista United Methodist Church under Bobbie's name. Contributions have been designated for the Church Youth Fund and the Church Building Fund.
The Bobbie Lyn Chauza Memorial Fund has received a total of $5,524.36. Half will be distributed to the Youth Fund and the rest will be placed in our church’s Building Fund. Thank y9ou for all who were so generous to make donations in Bobbie’s name.
A Word of Thanks. . .
The Chauza Family would like to thank everyone for all the love and
support they have received since Bobbie’s passing.
Stella and Bill Chapman would like to thank everyone for the gifts, food, support and especially the prayers. They were strengthened in the knowledge they did not face the unknown alone. They would like to convey their love and gratitude.
Cub Scouts
Mountain Vista UMC will be sponsoring a Cub Scout Troop. Cub Scouts are open to boys from 1st through 5th grades. Applications can be found on the bulletin board above the hall table at the church.
Nursery Care
Amy Benzon is the new face you may have seen in our nursery on Sundays. Amy is trained in early child development and has worked extensively with young children. The nursery welcomes children 3 years old and younger. Please stop by the nursery and welcome Amy.
Youth Group
The youth group is meeting regularly on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. with a great new team of leaders! They have already gone on a fun hiking trip in Little Cottonwood Canyon and are planning many more exciting activities. The next activity will be a trip to a corn maze followed by a lock-in at the church with movies and a LOT of food! If you are in 7th - 12th grade and interested in hanging out with lots of new friends, please join us on Wednesday evenings.
Guess Who's Moving?
We are losing a number of valuable members of our church in the next month. We will miss the Grierson, Haymaker and Oddis families greatly. Their forwarding addresses will be available in the office for those who would like them.
Donations
Please check the office window for this month's South Valley Sanctuary need. And keep those trial size donations coming!
Are you storing anything for the church?
The church will receive a full scale audit in October. If you have any church property in your possession, please be sure to either return it or let the office know you have it.
