The Ten Commandments of
How to Get Along With People
1. Keep skid chains on your tongue. Always say less than you think. Cultivate a low, persuasive voice. How you say it often counts more than what you say.
2. Make promises sparingly, and keep them faithfully, no matter what the cost.
3. Never let an opportunity pass to say a kind and encouraging word to or about somebody. Praise good work, regardless of who did it. If criticism is needed, offer it gently, never harshly.
4. Be interested in others, their pursuits, their work, their homes and families. Make merry with those who rejoice, and weep with those who mourn. Let everyone you meet, however humble, feel that you regard him or her as a person of importance.
5. Be cheerful. Don’t burden or depress those around you by dwelling on your minor headaches and pains and disappointments. Remember that everyone is caring some kind of burden, often heavier than your own.
6. Keep an open mind. Discuss, but don’t argue. It is a mark of a superior mind to be able to disagree without being disagreeable.
7. Let your virtues, if you have any, speak for themselves. Refuse to talk of another’s vises. Discourage gossip. It is a waste of valuable time, and can be extremely destructive.
8. Be careful of another’s feelings. Wit and humor at another person’s expense may do more damage than you will ever know.
9. Pay no attention to disparaging remarks. Remember, the person who carried the message may not be the most accurate reporter in the world, and things become twisted in the retelling. Live so that nobody will believe them. Nervous tension and bad digestion are common causes of backbiting.
10. Don’t be too eager to get the credit due you. Do your best, and be patient. Forget about yourself, and let others "remember." Success is much sweeter that way.

Stone Mission
The deadline is nearing for the stone mission. July 15 is the day that we need to make the order to the engraver, so please prayerfully consider a donation to the church building in this memorable way. Remember, you don't need to have the money in by July 15th, we just need the commitment to the engraver. The money needs to be in by the first of August. You may have one line of engraving for $100, two lines of engraving for $125 and three lines of engraving for $150. The amounts are minimum suggested donations because there is a cost to engrave the stones. Some of the ideas for the engraving have included names, scriptures, and even blank stones. For more details contact Ann or James Baker at 963-1206 or Betty Ross at 562-3016.
Construction Mission
The Construction Mission which ministers to and fellowships with the people charged with building our church building has been very successful so far. We want to thank all the people who have participated in this important mission. Our ministry and fellowship with the workers not only helps us keep our focus on why we are building a building (to experience, express and expand the love of God through Jesus Christ) but gives us an opportunity to touch the lives of a group of people and let them be a witness to our community of faith and what this building means to us.
There are many opportunities for you to join the Construction Mission. Melinda Grierson, Patti Chauza and Michelle Strohn is coordinating the efforts. Contact them for date openings and opportunities for service, fellowship, prayer, and/or food service. There will also be sign up calendars in church so that you can see how the whole mission project is working. Melinda, Patti and Michelle will coordinate with the builder and with our people so that you can have head counts for prepared meals and gifts, etc.
Christian Women's Fellowship
A very special "Thank You" to Jean Ann Nohavec for hosting a salad luncheon at her home in Park City on June 16. It was a beautiful day to spend time with friends, old and new. The salads were great, the fellowship was wonderful and the poems were inspirational.
Christian Women’s Fellowship will not be meeting during the summer but there will be special "work" days to work on the banner for the new worship center. If you are interested in helping with the banners, please contact Jean Ann Nohavec at (435) 649-6075.
Have You Made Your Cross?
We are making new banners for our new worship area and we are asking every person in the church to cut a cross out of fabric so we can add it to our banner. The crosses should be 6 to 8 inches tall and can be cut from any material. If you do not have any fabric, there is some available at the church. Please be sure to cut out your cross as soon as possible so your cross can be included on the banner. Thank you.
